Carolyn is a partner with KPMG Law LLP and KPMG in Canada. With over twelve years of experience practicing law in British Columbia, she uses her unique perspective and experiences as a lawyer in order to provide innovative solutions to complex cross-border tax issues for her clients.

Carolyn advises Canadian and foreign companies on a wide range of matters such as corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border financings and Canadian and international transactions. She advises on inbound and outbound cross-border investments, due diligence, acquisitions and divestitures. Her clients include both public and private companies across a wide-range of industries.

Carolyn strives to provide forward-thinking tax advice which reflects the rapidly changing international tax environment.  This year she authored “CRA Update: Covid-19 Guidance on Corporate Residency and Permanent Establishments” (2020) XXIII: 2, Corporate Finance (forthcoming) which examines the impact of the COVID-19 crisis on cross-border tax issues and Canada’s tax treaties.
