Jim is an Audit Partner in KPMG’s Vancouver office with 30 years’ experience. He has spent most of his career at KPMG providing services to public companies in the Consumer and Industrial Markets group. He has extensive experience with US GAAP including 25 years of experience providing services to SEC registrants or SEC foreign registrants.
Jim is a Chartered Accountant, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of BC and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is one of KPMG’s Vancouver-based SEC Reviewing Partners, thus he is able to sign off on all US SEC filings locally. He acts as Quality Reviewing Partner on a number of cross-border engagements and also is a professional practice partner in the Vancouver office,
Jim has extensive experience with US GAAP and SEC matters including dealing with SEC comment letters and SEC filings. Jim also has experience dealing with IFRS accounting standards. He is a member of KPMG’s National Technical Topic Group for Impairment and for Business Combinations.
Jim had a one-year secondment in KPMG’s Department of Professional Practice in New York, where he focused on current and emerging accounting, securities and auditing matters applicable to public companies in the US. During his time in New York, Jim dealt with a number of multinational companies.
