Renée is an experienced business lawyer whose practice focuses on corporate law, mergers and acquisitions and securities law. While born and raised in Calgary, Renée practiced law in Sydney, Australia before returning to her hometown to resume her Canadian legal practice bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and experience gained overseas.

Professional and Industry Experience

Renée works with clients at all stages of the business lifecycle, providing clients with advice on a wide range of strategic transactions, including asset and share acquisitions and divestitures, public and private financings, and corporate reorganizations. She routinely assists clients in the negotiation and drafting of corporate and commercial agreements and provides clients with day-to-day governance and compliance advice. Renée is pragmatic and outcomes-focused and enjoys working collaboratively with her clients to find practical solutions to their legal challenges.

Renée works with clients in a diverse array of industries and has previously advised clients in the oil & gas, manufacturing, health care, financial services, and information technology sectors.

  • Advised executives and boards on strategic investment and divestment opportunities aimed at shareholder value creation, including drafting share and business sale and purchase agreements and ancillary transaction documents.
  • Advised clients on corporate governance, continuous disclosure, regulatory compliance and general corporate and commercial matters, conducting research and preparing legal memoranda.
  • Advised issuers, underwriters and lead managers in relation to capital raising including drafting subscription agreements, offering documents, disclosure documents, governance documents and other ancillary transaction documents.
