The U.S. Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has taken action to support taxpayers at this time. The filing deadline has been extended for 2019 U.S. federal income tax returns from April 15 to July 15, 2020. Taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties. This includes first quarter estimates towards 2020 taxes. New information is presently being issued daily as there is uncertainty as to some of the details. We are aware that certain States may take a different approach to the IRS, so we are monitoring the situation closely.
That said, our approach remains the same, i.e. if your complete tax return information was provided to us by 15 March, we will finalise the tax returns by 15 April. Regardless of when your information was provided, we are committed to issuing your tax return as soon as possible.
