Jonathan Barnes leads our captive advisory practise at KPMG in Bermuda, and he manages a variety of projects across industry sectors. Projects range from captive feasibility studies to operational reviews, and, in some cases, formal restructuring of a captive. He also has experience in the run-off market, including reinsurance to close, portfolio loss transfers and novation transactions. Jonathan is driven by partnering with clients to understand their needs and then working alongside them to achieve the best, long-term results.
Prior to joining our firm in 2018, Jonathan had over 10 years’ experience within the insurance market as a Senior Underwriter for specialist lines, with a focus on alternative risk transfer. He spent five years with AIG in London where he graduated from their Emerging Leaders Program, and he also achieved distinction from Cass Business School for a Masters in Insurance & Risk Management. Jonathan also has the Advanced Diploma and is a Chartered Insurer from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII).
