2021 Summer Intern

I am about to start my final year at the University of Richmond in Virginia studying Economics. I am extremely grateful to have spent my summer interning with KPMG’s Restructuring Team in the Advisory Department.

When looking into summer internship programmes, my main goal was to find a firm with a well-established intern programme that allowed students the opportunity work alongside their own employees. KPMG’s programme fulfilled all these requirements and more. The work assigned to me was both challenging and interesting, and strengthened my critical thinking skills. The knowledge and experience that I have gained from this internship are invaluable.

In the final two weeks of my internship, the intern group was split amongst various charitable organizations to utilise the skills and knowledge we have accumulated over our time at KPMG to assist a local non-profit in various tasks. I completed my local charity project with Keep Bermuda Beautiful where we completed a litter survey for the organisation. It felt good to be able to put my skills to the test for a good cause.

Something that I really enjoyed about KPMG’s internship was the mentorship and guidance that came with it. Each intern is assigned two full-time staff members who are there to help guide you, but your entire team is there to support you in addition to your assigned mentors. The office culture is welcoming and inclusive as I felt like I was treated like any other full-time employee.

I would highly recommend KPMG’s summer internship program to any Bermudian students who want to gain vital experience at a world-renowned firm!
