I am a young Bermudian and I am doing my Co-op Placement in the Advisory practice at KPMG in Bermuda.
Gabriela is a co-op student with KPMG in Bermuda.
I have been fortunate to study overseas at Newcastle University in the UK, where I obtained a BA (Hons) in English Literature, and at EmLyon Business School and Institut Paul Bocuse in France, where I am enrolled in a MSc in International Hospitality Management. Whilst I have not taken the traditional higher education path to a career in Corporate Finance, I have gained a wealth of knowledge from my previous studies and it has given me a fresh perspective and inquisitive nature which has proved invaluable to my work so far.
My MSc has exposed me to a range of Economics, Business and Finance classes. Being able to conduct valuations, learn asset management, and construct business plans for a range of hospitality institutions spiked my interest and encouraged me to delve further into the field. The Co-op Placement at KPMG is the perfect place to develop my newly acquired financial knowledge. It is also where I can further develop my analytical skills with the multi-disciplinary approach that KPMG has, as a professional services firm with such a wide variety of clients.
I have every intention of learning as much as I can from this experience. And I hope to gain technological knowledge through participating in the diverse range of projects that the Advisory practice encounters, and I am very much looking forward to building my career with KPMG.
