In line with its’ ongoing commitment to support the professional growth of their people; KPMG in Bahrain recently launched their first ‘Toastmasters’ Club with a total of 72 members. The new club has been officially chartered in November 2021 and aims to provide a positive learning experience, whereby members can develop their communication and leadership skills in a supportive and constructive learning environment.
The club inauguration ceremony was held online on the 10 November 2021. Jamal Fakhro, Managing Partner at KPMG in Bahrain, welcomed the attendees in his inauguration speech and said “I believe presentation skills are essential for our people to help them present their ideas to all our stakeholders clearly, and therefore help them to articulate their opinions and decisions. People who attend a Toastmasters’ Club usually do well in their roles and careers through their enhanced communication skills. I am confident that our people at KPMG will benefit a great deal from the club and their activities while also learning from their valued mentors.”
Various members of Toastmasters International along with the District 20 Club Growth Director Khalid Jalal also attended the event. Ali Shahbaz Ali, International Director (Region 11) in his speech expressed his pleasure to be launching the KPMG Bahrain Toastmasters Club - “I am proud to be inducting the KPMG Bahrain Toastmasters Club, one of the largest clubs by number of participants in the Region. Members will not only learn how to communicate effectively, but they will also become part of an outstanding group of people who are committed to helping each other” he commented
