The Waqf Fund CFO Grooming Program Technical Module
KPMG Bahrain awarded certificates of completion to 20 selected professionals from Bahrain’s banking industry upon the completion of the Waqf Fund CFO Grooming Program Technical Module delivered by KPMG in November 2018. This comes as part of the Waqf Fund’s CFO Grooming Program, which aims to groom the next generation of C-suite executives in the Islamic banking industry.
The 10-day intensive training program covered a range of technical topics relevant to the Chief Financial Officers of today, including “How to transition to the role of a CFO?”, “Digital Finance and Fintech”, “Basel and the CFO”, and many others. Participants also benefited from the various guest speaker sessions arranged with CFOs from multi-national and regional banks sharing their valuable experience.
The CBB’s Waqf Fund, which sponsored the program, was established in 2006 in partnership with Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) in Bahrain. The objective of the Waqf Fund is to undertake initiatives in Islamic finance education, training and research.
