The Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA), a government body overseeing a population of more than 2.7 million people living in the UK, faced a serious funding gap equivalent to US$10 billion.
It needed to dramatically improve its efficiency, information sharing and collaboration using data and analytics. A major objective was to design an entirely new infrastructure for data gathering and analysis, one that would deliver better insights for decision-making and enhance deeper, more-efficient collaboration among its busy network of 37 major health and social-care partners.
Working with KPMG’s data and analytics team, the GMCA was able to design and launch a new system to gather and analyze critical data that’s now providing GMCA leadership with unprecedented new insights on efficiency and flexibility. And the partner network is also accessing and sharing vital new levels of data and relevant insights that are improving their operations and service delivery every day.
