Experience a major retrospective exhibition of renowned Belgian Photographer Stephan Vanfleteren at FOMU Antwerp from 25 October 2019 to 1 March 2020.
At KPMG, we believe art – and the diversity that defines it – has a profound power to ignite creativity and innovation in our work.
Art weaves into the fabric of our society, shaping the culture, influencing technology and demonstrating a dynamic combination of methods, concepts, and subjects that challenge and transcend traditional boundaries.
It tells a story – our story. One of life, passion, openness to culture, creativity and conversation. It brings our values to life and demonstrates to our people, our clients, and the public that we are worldly, that our knowledge and interests extend beyond our job descriptions and that we can bring value beyond expectations.
Stephan Vanfleteren turns fifty this year and he celebrates with a major retrospective exhibition that fills the entire Fotomuseum Antwerpen, where he’ll simultaneously introduce a new publication. “I was there, I was present”, says the photographer, who always feels as much a witness as an accomplice. Present is an impressive overview of Vanfleteren’s oeuvre that provides a complete picture of him as a photographer, an artist, and above all a human being who faces life with empathy, wonder, and curiosity.
PRESENT is a journey through the oeuvre of photographer Stephan Vanfleteren, with expansive personal reflections and stories from three decades of encounters and photography. From street photography in world cities like New York to the genocide of Ruanda, from storefront façades to the mystical landscapes of the Atlantic Wall, from still lifes to intense portraits.
