The KPMG Trophy is one of the most celebrated rounds of the Challenge Tour, enjoying international recognition amongst golf professionals. For its fifth edition, the Belgian round of the Challenge Tour takes place from 29 August to 1 September 2019 at the Millennium Golf Club in Flanders, one of the longest golf courses in Belgium.
Once again this year, the Royal Belgian Golf Federation is sending its finest players to the tournament to don the Belgian colours and represent the best of the sport in Belgium. It’s a wonderful opportunity to admire top level golf and highly recommended as an occasion not to be missed! Entry is free and golf lovers of all kinds are invited to come and support our players, as well as some of the best golfers from across Europe. In 2018, eleven Belgians participated in the competition, which was held at the Golf de L’Empereur course in Wallonia.
It’s worth noting that the KPMG Trophy is also one of the professional tournaments in which players can qualify for the European Tour! Renowned professionals Thomas Pieters (2015) and Thomas Detry (2016) both distinguished themselves in previous editions of the Trophy, and currently represent Belgium on the European Tour.
The present title-holder of the KPMG Trophy is Portuguese golfer, Pedro Figueiredo. You can find more information about the tournament on the kpmgtrophy.be website, as well as follow the latest developments on social media and on the Royal Belgian Golf Federation website at golfbelgium.be.
A press conference will be held at 11am on Monday 26 August at the Millennium Golf Club.
