Our vision is what defines us and inspires us to act with focus, accountability and discipline. It guides us in our mission to be a trustworthy and reliable partner, to invest in people and to have a positive impact on our environment.

Our vision can be summed up with these three pillars:

  • Public and client trust: deliver high quality services while being a trustworthy and reliable partner that works with integrity for clients and the wider public, helping companies reach their full growth potential.
  • Extraordinary people: provide our people and stakeholders with a safe and fair environment where they are happy, and foster opportunities for them to be fulfilled in their professional and personal development so that they can contribute positively to society.
  • Environmental impact: responsibly manage our environmental footprint and minimize the use of energy and the emission of CO2.

Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)

In January 2016, 193 UN Member States started working towards a new set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) aimed at making our world more prosperous, inclusive, sustainable and resilient. The SDG are an ambitious call to action for people, planet and prosperity. They seek to tackle inequality and end extreme poverty and hunger, with the overarching objective of leaving no one behind.

KPMG International employs member firms' skills, resources and influence to pursue the SDGs and contribute to all 17 Goals through our client work. In Belgium, we focus particularly on the following SDG:

  • Quality Education (Goal 4)
  • Gender Equality (Goal 5)
  • Decent Work and Economic Growth (Goal 8)
  • Climate Action (Goal 13)
  • Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (Goal 16)
  • Partnerships for the Goals (Goal 17)

The story behind it

Articulating our vision is the result of a journey. A journey of dialogue, review and serious reflection. Stakeholder input plays an important role as it is vital to our long-term success. That is why we have met with numerous internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities.

The focus has been to discuss how KPMG can support and positively impact the business world at large while contributing to our communities and public trust. These discussions have taken place through face-to-face interviews and via an online survey with key stakeholders such as: our employees and partners, clients and potential clients, citizens, government officials and politicians, and regulators.

The results of our analysis are mapped out below in function of their materiality and strategic importance.
