In January 2016, 193 UN Member States started working towards a new set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) aimed at making our world more prosperous, inclusive, sustainable and resilient. The SDG are an ambitious call to action for people, planet and prosperity. They seek to tackle inequality and end extreme poverty and hunger, with the overarching objective of leaving no one behind.
KPMG International employs member firms' skills, resources and influence to pursue the SDGs and contribute to all 17 Goals through our client work. In Belgium, we focus particularly on the following SDG:
Articulating our vision is the result of a journey. A journey of dialogue, review and serious reflection. Stakeholder input plays an important role as it is vital to our long-term success. That is why we have met with numerous internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on priorities.
The focus has been to discuss how KPMG can support and positively impact the business world at large while contributing to our communities and public trust. These discussions have taken place through face-to-face interviews and via an online survey with key stakeholders such as: our employees and partners, clients and potential clients, citizens, government officials and politicians, and regulators.
The results of our analysis are mapped out below in function of their materiality and strategic importance.
