KPMG Innovation Factory: Let’s generate innovative ideas to counter the challenges you’re facing

KPMG Innovation Factory

The front end of innovation sets the stage for success in innovation: without ideas there will be no innovation. Innovation Factory’s Idea Management software and the accompanying Idea Challenge methodology allow organizations to harness the collective brainpower of everyone inside or even outside the organization. In an exciting way, large populations or small expert groups - such as front-line employees - are engaged and involved to share and enrich ideas and thereby address the challenges the organization faces.

KPMG Innovation Factory: Let’s generate innovative ideas to counter the challenges you’re facing

Creating innovation capability focuses on 4 elements and key questions and capabilities to tackle.

  1. Innovation strategy: how can we align our innovation efforts with the strategy of the organization?
  2. Ideas to launch: how do we get the best ideas and implement them successfully?
  3. Portfolio Management: how can we ensure our innovation portfolio matches our strategy?
  4. Culture & leadership: how to create an innovative culture through innovative leadership.

Through different idea challenges both internal and external stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the innovation process.

An idea challenge in a nutshell:

  • A structured three-month campaign in the form of an open discussion forum with a defined purpose
  • Aligned to strategic objectives or programs
  • Collaboration across disciplines and networks enables cross-pollination of knowledge sharing; ideas get bigger, better and easier to implement
  • Designed to include a proven, structured and transparent idea selection process, including templates for business cases and plans for approach

This approach allows us to come up with a short-list of the most promising ideas based on a proven selection method. In a second phase we will develop a long list of all ideas and enrichments gathered during the Idea Challenge.

Next we will organize a workshop where we will select ideas together so that we can help you transform them into visible and shared concepts that are ready for further development and realization as well as provide advice on how to present this to the management.

Through capable collaborators, who have basic understanding of online community management and ideation, we engage the entire organization through knowledge sharing and stimulating a broad commitment and support for the change initiatives.
