KPMG and Microsoft have extended their global alliance by introducing three 'Blockchain Nodes' –i.e. innovation workspaces– allowing to further examine & create potential applications of blockchain technology, together with clients. Microsoft's technical expertise and the comprehensive industry know-how of KPMG will work hands in hands, enabling experts from both companies to analyse business processes and models from different sectors to determine whether and to what extent they can be optimized using blockchain technology, making these applications available to clients via Microsoft's infrastructure. KPMG Belgium will be able to propose it to its clients and benefits from that global experience thanks to the nearby located 'node' in Frankfurt.

With a primary focus on applications for financial services, plans are to further analyse how blockchain technology can be applied for healthcare and the public sector, and potentially other industries in the future.

This initiative also strives for a cooperation with selected developers and a close connection to the start-up ecosystem. This will enable a greater range of solutions for the challenges blockchain implementation presents for financial institutions and other industry players.
