Dirk Van Stappen is a tax partner with KPMG in Belgium. He joined KPMG in 1988 and has over 30 years of experience in advising multinational organizations on corporate tax (both domestic and international tax) and transfer pricing issues.

Dirk and his team have been involved in and conducted various tax planning and transfer pricing assignments, ranging from the preparation of European transfer pricing documentation (including functional and economic analyses and comparables searches), domestic and international transfer pricing audit defense to the negotiation of (uni-, bi- and multilateral) rulings and advance pricing arrangements (APAs). Dirk participated to the conclusion of the first Belgian multilateral APA. Another area of focus is intragroup financing, strategic transfer pricing planning and Tax Efficient Supply Chain Management (TESCM – e.g. agent/commissionaire-structures, contract or toll manufacturing arrangements, contract R&D arrangements, procurement centers, distribution and service centers, IP planning, entrepreneurs, etc.).

Dirk Van Stappen has excellent relations with the Belgian central tax and APA authorities and has been invited several times as counselor by the Transfer Pricing Team of the Belgian tax authorities.
