Together with his team he has been involved in and conducted various tax planning and transfer pricing assignments, ranging from the preparation of European and global transfer pricing documentation (including functional and economic analyses and comparables searches), domestic and international transfer pricing audit defense to the negotiation of (uni-, bi- and multilateral) rulings and advance pricing arrangements (APAs).
Yves has experience of working on multinational transfer pricing projects in almost every industry, but has a special focus on the financial services, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
He has a vast experience in setting up strategic transfer pricing planning and fiscal reengineering or Value Chain Management (VCM – e.g. agent/commissionaire-structures, contract or toll manufacturing arrangements, contract R&D arrangements, central purchasing, distribution and service centers, intellectual property planning, principal and entrepreneur, etc.).
Another area of focus is intragroup financing. His experience in the financial services sector includes setting up of asset management transfer pricing policies, determination of arm’s length interest rates and implementing cash-pooling systems, interest rate swaps, foreign exchange hedging, provision of intercompany guarantees, etc.
Apart from his experience in the Belgian practice, he also worked within the London transfer pricing practice where he gained additional experience within the financial industry.
Yves has excellent relations with the Belgian central tax and APA authorities and has been invited several times as counselor by the Transfer Pricing Team of the Belgian tax authorities. He has significant experience working with European, US, Korean and Japanese multinational clients.
He has assisted numerous companies during transfer pricing audits conducted by the special transfer pricing audit team of the Belgian tax authorities, and has given seminars around transfer pricing audits in Belgium.
He is specialized in business restructuring and transfer pricing planning for intangible property and has in this respect advanced experience in the application of the Belgian Patent Income Deduction.
He also is experienced in valuations of intangibles and is assisting clients on a regular basis towards the central Belgian tax authorities for concluding transfer pricing rulings.
