KPMG in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean is pleased to announce that Dave Collins has been appointed as Director in its Advisory practice. He is based in the KPMG office in Barbados and will be assisting the leadership team in developing the practice across the Eastern Caribbean.
Dave attained his BSc. in Mathematics from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom, and subsequently completed his professional accounting designation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. He is also a qualified insolvency professional in the United Kingdom after completing the Joint Insolvency Examination Board of England and Wales.
Dave has more than 13 years of professional services experience, the last five of which were spent in the Eastern and Southern Caribbean. His experience spans the full range of restructuring services, including independent business reviews, cash and working capital management, options reviews, corporate-led turnarounds, and formal insolvency appointments. Dave also undertook a 12-month secondment to Lloyds Banking Group advising the credit risk and recoveries team with their loan portfolio. In addition he also aided with the internal governance and reporting requirements to the national leadership team.
Through Dave’s work throughout the Eastern Caribbean he has become one of the leading technical resources for insolvency having knowledge of the different insolvency laws in the region. Dave has provided direct input to the Supervisor of Insolvency in Barbados and St. Vincent with respect to practical workings of the current legislation.
