KPMG and DB have launched workshop for ADY

On 19 April, KPMG jointly with Deutsche Bahn (DB) have launched 2-day workshop on preparation of 5 year Business Plan for Azerbaijan Railway JCSC (ADY) under the World Bank funded Rail Trade and Transport Facilitation Project at Fairmont Hotel.

Mr. Gebhard Hafer , DB representative, welcomed participants of the event, informed briefly on the progress that had been made so far within the scope of the project and thanked entire ADY technical and management team for their support in the implementation of the project. Mr. Javid Gurbanov, Chairman  of ADY thanked DB and KPMG team on great work done so far and support, emphasized the importance of the project for mid-term strategy formulation of the company. He gave comprehensive overview of the plans that ADY intends to undertake to become transit hub in the region as well as the status of strategic projects that ADY currently implements. 


Mr. Vugar Aliyev, Managing Partner of KPMG in Azerbaijan also thanked ADY team for their support and assured that KPMG will further continue its effort in partnership with DB to support ADY institutional, financial, legal-regulatory, organizational and operational reform agenda. He also informed the participants on the financial model that had been prepared within the scope of the program which will serve as analytical tool for evaluation of various scenarios and assumptions.


After official opening the project team continued its discussion on working group level to discuss the findings of analytical report that had been prepared within the scope of the project as well as detailed ecommendations to get consensus which would serve as foundation for preparation of 5 year Business Plan.
