On 9 October, KPMG in Azerbaijan took part in annual German-Azerbaijani Business Forum 2018 devoted to Energy and ICT fields. The main objective of this year’s Forum was to highlight Azerbaijan’s importance for the energy security of Europe, combined with German Chancellor’s recent visit to Azerbaijan. The Forum’s work also focused on technological innovations and digitalization levels of oil&gas industry.
Murat Karakas, Managing Partner of KPMG in Azerbaijan, delivered a presentation on “Global Trends and Challenges in Oil & Gas industry”. The presentation was based on the findings of KPMG’s Global Oil&Gas Practice and gave the audience a perspective into current mood across the industry.
The Forum, organized by the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK), was attended by the deputy minister of Energy of Azerbaijan, other high ranking government officials, the Embassy of Federal Republic of Germany in Azerbaijan and other diplomatic missions, as well as SOCAR, EBRD, BP, Uniper, Siemens, SAP, Lahmeyer International GmbH, DHL Global Forwarding, PASHA Bank and others.
