KPMG held charity workshop on “Models for the provision of comprehensive care of children and adolescents with autism spectrum”
On September 16-17, KPMG in Azerbaijan held two-day charity event for Non-profit organization “Together and Healthy” Public Union at the Holiday Inn Hotel.
The workshop commenced with a welcoming speech from Kamilla Sharifova, Marketing Senior Specialist at KPMG in Azerbaijan and Ayten Eynalova, Chairmen of “Together and Healthy” Public Union.
“Together and Healthy” Public Union was registered at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan in September 2013. The aim of Union is to ensure the awareness of people with psychological and mental disabilities, special needs, and those with autism syndrome, including families and community, and to assist children in making use of treatment and rehabilitation services, and their social inclusion.
Two specialists from “Center for Curative Pedagogy” in Moscow were invited by KPMG to host the workshop: Olga Karaneyevskaya and Ludmila Shargorodksaya, who shared their knowledge and experience with their colleagues in Azerbaijan.
During the workshop, the main aspects of educational process of children with autism spectrum were discussed, including the initial stage of comprehensive care, social adaptation of adolescents, providing psychological and educational support to children and their parents.
