Privacy Collection Statement: KPMG Recruitment

This collection statement summarises how KPMG in Australia collects, uses, discloses and manages personal information as part of its recruitment process (including administering psychometric assessments and conducting background checks of successful candidates).

This collection statement should be read in conjunction with KPMG's Privacy Policy.

KPMG is committed to protecting personal information. Where KPMG collects personal information about you as part of its recruitment process, psychometric testing or background checks, KPMG will treat the information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles established by the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988.

 

Collection of personal information

KPMG collects personal information, including sensitive information, in relation to current and future employment opportunities with KPMG.  Your personal information may be collected from:

  • you directly; and
  • third parties, such as referees, recruitment intermediaries (e.g., PageUp) and current or previous employers.

 

Purpose, use and disclosure of personal information

KPMG will use your personal information to:

  • process your application;
  • assess your suitability for any future position that becomes available;
  • facilitate interview processes;
  • administer psychometric testing;
  • initiate background checks if you are successful; and
  • establish and analyse recruitment trends over time.

KPMG may disclose your personal information to:

  • partners and employees of KPMG in Australia and any entity owned or controlled by the KPMG Group
  • your referees
  • KPMG's external service providers on a confidential basis, including for processing your application, assessing your suitability for future positions, administering psychometric testing, facilitating interview processes, conducting background checks if you are successful, management of the application system, to assist with resolving system errors and for administrative tasks such as maintaining the recruitment database.

Where you provide sensitive information relating to diversity, such as gender identity, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability as part of the recruitment process, it will be used in an aggregated manner for the purpose of understanding the demographics of people applying for our roles and ensuring we are reaching a diverse range of candidates. This information will be processed separately from applications sent to hiring managers. 

 

What happens if you do not provide your personal information?

If you do not provide the personal information requested, then we may not be able to consider or process your application or offer you employment.

 

Security and retention of personal information

KPMG has systems in place to protect the personal information it holds. KPMG will store the personal information collected as part of the recruitment processes electronically on databases or in secure storage with restricted access.

KPMG will generally retain your personal information collected as part of the recruitment process so that we may contact you again in the future to discuss any other suitable employment opportunities available at KPMG. If you do not want us to retain your personal information or contact you in the future, you may remove your personal information from the database by terminating your registration at any time.
