“We are delighted to announce the appointment of Cassandra Hogan as the new Head of ENR at KPMG Australia,” said Gary Wingrove, CEO KPMG Australia. “Cassandra takes over from Ted Surette who has provided strong leadership for ENR in Australia since 2015.”

Ted will continue to lead KPMG’s Global Power & Utilities group.

Mr Wingrove said that Cassandra Hogan’s background of working with ENR clients for more than a decade would be invaluable given the challenges and opportunities in the sector. He highlighted her extensive client experience in key areas including business strategy, operational excellence, organisational change, and complex transformation projects.

“Cassandra has been the sector leader for KPMG Power & Utilities for the past 4 years and has worked on key energy and water engagements in the sector. Since joining the firm in 2007, she has been a major contributor to the growth of KPMG’s Power & Utilities practice demonstrating strong leadership qualities as well as outstanding industry knowledge,” he said.

“Energy & Natural Resources is a growth area for Australian companies and it continues to be a major contributor to our GDP,” said Ms Hogan. “It is also an industry undergoing significant change and transformation with the challenges of disruption, technological shifts, and an increasing focus on stakeholder expectations. I am looking forward to working closely with our clients as they face this complex future of energy transition.”

Ms Hogan added: “KPMG clients are also navigating the impacts of regulatory scrutiny, and must focus on risk management to keep pace with business and environmental change,” she said. “Our firm understands the micro and macro issues in the sector and can help identify key opportunities to drive growth and productivity.”

Prior to joining KPMG, Cassandra Hogan had a successful 16-year career in industry holding senior national positions in the energy sector.
