Julie Hare joins education sector practice

KPMG is pleased to announce that award-winning journalist Julie Hare, higher education editor of The Australian newspaper, is joining the firm as associate director in its education sector practice.

Julie will be working with KPMG’s education sector lead partner Professor Stephen Parker AO, writing and presenting high-level issues papers about the future of tertiary education and research in Australia. She will also work with clients on external relations and media communications.

Stephen Parker said: ‘We are delighted that Julie will be joining our practice. She has extensive experience in the tertiary education sector having reported on developing trends, practices and government policy both in Australia and internationally over many years. She is ideally placed to help us produce market-leading think-pieces about developments in education, training and research, which will influence the education policy debate in Australia.”
Julie joins a growing team of specialists in KPMG’s education sector practice which promotes informed discussion and advises education providers, policymakers and government.

She has held her current role at The Australian for the past seven years. Before that she was editor in chief of APN Educational Media and editor of Campus Review. She is the winner of number awards for journalism and is a regular presenter at conferences.
