KPMG was recognised as a 'Vanguard Leader' in a September 2018 Procurement Operations Consulting report by ALM Intelligence.
The global report assesses consulting providers in terms of their relative ability to create impact for their clients; and offers a comprehensive analysis and assessment of the offerings and practice standings around ability to assess client maturity, ability to identify and mitigate risks and ability to alter behaviour and mindsets.
In characterising KPMG's strengths, ALM stated, “KPMG's approach leads to improved understanding of the value add of procurement to the C-Suite, and encourages increased integration of procurement as a key lever for business strategy success”.
ALM rated KPMG ‘best in class’ in operating system, commending KPMG's Powered Procurement solution, as providing “a succinct and effective transformation strategy that is quickly enacted in client engagements through strong base lining capabilities. The firm's use of digital tools designed for improved operations and information gathering complement this transformation effort and provide clients with a strong operational structure for procurement.”
ALM remarked that “KPMG continues to invest in and grow its procurement operations capability, utilising strategic alliances to elevate advisory services in response to increasing client demand”, and also stated that KPMG’s “Powered Procurement solution is well received by clients seeking rapid transformation, as the solution streamlines traditional transformation to a five-step methodology. KPMG also continues to develop new digital tools to provide optimised operating models, derived from the firm’s extensive thought leadership research that demonstrates strong insights into industry specific demands within procurement.”
“Our Powered Procurement methodology is the result of hundreds of global implementations, thousands of design sessions, and thought leadership from our global operations practitioners. It provides our clients with a pragmatic, next generation, pre-configured framework from which to achieve their digital transformation goals,” said Dipan Karumsi, Principal, Procurement & Operations Advisory, KPMG in the United States.
”The value of this holistic, all-encompassing methodology in our approach is not starting from the ground up where processes are designed from first principles. As a result, more time is focused on thinking through the specific implications of the design versus chasing a pressurised timeline resulting in a more robust, scalable and sustainable outcome.” Said Chris Clements, Partner, Procurement & Operations Advisory, KPMG Australia.
ALM rated KPMG as ‘very strong’ on needs assessment, external market insight, operating system; and also scored KPMG as ’strong’ on internal client insight, strategy, management system, project management and enabling tools.
