KPMG Enterprise’s Global Network for Innovative Startups launched the Q3 2018 edition of the Venture Pulse report. The report analyses the latest global trends in venture capital investment data and provides insights from both a global and regional perspective.
Australia’s startup sector has yet again enjoyed a quarter of growth in venture capital, according to Venture Pulse Q3 2018. Q3 2018 totalled $US317 million across 27 deals, exceeding every other quarter in the dataset excepting Q2 2014.
Key Australian deals involved:
Software dominated investor interest, with five out of the top eight deals being business productivity, financial or educational software.
Globally, venture capital investment remained strong in Q3’18 with US$52 billion invested across 3,045 deals. Overall, $183.3 billion invested globally at the close of Q3’18 has already surpassed 2017’s annual total of $171 billion.
