The importance of IoT is undisputed with HfS describing it as the 'core technology' behind digitalisation. In an age where increasing numbers of devices will become connected to the internet, relaying and receiving data, the importance of IoT services is only set to grow.

“KPMG excels at strategy, visioning and big project management,” Phil Fersht, CEO and Chief Analyst at HfS Research commented. “Their understanding of Smart Cities is strong. They are professional, responsive and supportive, and leverage their Tax and Banking expertise to advantage. Through their Data & Analytics capability, they leverage IoT-generated data to allow clients to automate functions that previously were not possible. Their technical skills are impressive.”

Piers Hogarth-Scott, National Practice Leader, The Internet of Things at KPMG said, “IoT goes to the core of digital transformation. It enables operational efficiencies, automation of processes and the opportunity to generate new revenue streams. Business leaders know they need to get ahead with IoT services now if they are to gain any kind of early mover advantage. At KPMG, we work with businesses right across the strategic planning, deployment and operation of their IoT projects and we're very pleased that our work has been recognised in this respected market report.”

“KPMG took an early leadership role in developing IoT for Australia. They recognised the impact and opportunity that IoT will have for society and for the economy, and subsequently made an ahead-of-the-curve strategic investment in developing their IoT capability which has helped propel the industry,” said Frank Zeichner, CEO of IoT Alliance of Australia (IoTAA).

The HfS Blueprint Report also noted KPMG's IoT Innovation Network, which is an ecosystem of emerging and established technology and service organisations driving the development of IoT solutions, with over 750 companies in the network and growing.
