Course outline – Introduction to Integrated Reporting

The webinar series is designed to give participants an understanding of the fundamentals of Integrated Reporting, including integrated thinking, and the benefits it can bring to an organisation. Topics covered include:

  1. The vision for better corporate reporting – the evolution of the <IR> movement and adopting <IR>.
  2. The fundamental principles of value creation, the capitals and the value creation process.
  3. Achieving integrated thinking.
  4. Preparing the integrated report – the guiding principles, content elements and the integrated report.
  5. Implementing <IR> – from financial management to value management – implementing the <IR> management system, establishing credibility and trust and the annual preparation process.

Additional KPMG training

KPMG has also developed the following courses:

  • 1-hour briefing module on <IR> and the underlying change agenda, which we can be tailored to brief boards and senior executive teams on what <IR>, is not and how it will benefit the organisation.
  • 2-day practitioner level <IR> training course which builds on the Introductory course (webinars) to provide practical guidance and know-how to managers charged with designing and constructing their organisation’s integrated report. (This course is also endorsed through the IIRC pilot partner program.)

Who would benefit from these courses?

Directors, executives and managers from all types of organisations (listed, private, NFP and government) involved in or responsible for external reporting and who want to understand global and local developments to reform external reporting so it focuses more on how an organisation creates and preserves value over the short, medium and long term (guiding principle of Integrated Reporting), as opposed to the organisation’s short term financial results.
