Tim Thomas

Partner, KPMG Strategy

KPMG Australia

Tim leads KPMG’s Insurance & Wealth Strategy practice in Australia. Tim assists clients who are looking for insight-driven ways to make sense of the unprecedented level of disruption in the insurance and wealth sector. He offers support to leaders who are motivated to drive clear strategic change and successfully set up an organisation to execute on large scale transformations in the face of known operating and regulatory complexity. Tim is particularly interested in bringing to his clients a relevant blend of global insights, local market operational depth, and new to sector thinking from emerging management, data and technological disciplines.

Tim is particularly energised in working with leaders who are looking to disrupt their organisations in an effort to drive greater customer intimacy and operational effectiveness, and who are looking for innovative models to drive capability acceleration and adjacent growth. He believes we are in a unique stage of the market’s development where the sector is looking to the next generation of leadership to find new avenues of sustainable growth.

Tim has worked in range of strategy, corporate development and C-suite roles in the insurance and wealth sector, both in Australia and across Asia. He has run large and complex growth and enterprise-wide transformational programs for leading global brands such as AXA and Prudential Financial. Tim joined KPMG Strategy in Australia in late 2017, and is a member of the Global Insurance Leadership Executive. He holds account leadership responsibilities for the firm, and drives new solutions and alliances for the broader financial services practice.
