Phil has more than 15 years' experience specialising in restructuring, turnaround and financial investigation in Australia and the UK.

Phil has had exposure to cross-border insolvency and multi-jurisdictional issues including:

  • Halifax – investment services (AU and NZ)
  • Dick Smith – retail (AU and NZ)
  • Borders/Whitcoulls – retail (AU and NZ).

Phil has had significant exposure to the hospitality industry, including:

  • consulting on many of the larger hospitality restructures in New South Wales over the last ten years
  • the consulting and review of over 180 venues (hotels, clubs, pubs, resorts and function centres)
  • managing the trading and sale of approximately 80 hotels under external administration.

He was seconded to a major Australian lender where he reviewed a large cross-section of its loan portfolio.

Phil joined KPMG as a Partner following the firm's merger with Ferrier Hodgson in June 2019.
