Ian is passionate about technology and its application to financial services (Fintech).
This includes authoring Australia’s first local study into its potential opportunities. “As a firm we really want to play our role in shaping and influencing how the financial services sector evolves in the future.”
Ian was gratified to see KPMG’s recommendations in the report given critical weight. “We suggested the creation of a Fintech hub, that would facilitate collaboration between diverse stakeholders and now there it is in Bridge St, Sydney (Stone & Chalk).”
It also reflects his love of doing new things, “innovating, pushing the boundaries of our firm and making sure we’re looking over the horizon”. It is about harnessing our global knowledge, sharing our point of view and working with our clients to co-create the future. Ian has spent more than 15 years serving the banking industry.
Prior to joining KPMG, he worked at Telstra Corporation in Strategy for Business & Government. It was his work there that piqued his interest in financial services, ultimately leading to his current position.
