IFRS 17 Accounting Lead Partner
Ian has over 24 years of experience working in the insurance industry, including over 21 years with KPMG in London and Sydney. He joined KPMG in the UK in 1993 and in 2005, became an audit partner in the Australian firm specialising in the insurance industry. He has been continuously involved in the audit and financial management of insurers since 1993.
Ian's deep industry experience and broad relationships across insurers allows him to focus on the key issues of his clients and to provide timely advice and solutions.
He has extensive experience in providing assurance services, accounting advice and other advisory services to insurance companies and he has lead teams that provided outsourced Internal Audit services. Ian has worked in a number of large listed local and international insurance clients.
Ian is KPMG Australia’s representative on the AASB’s IFRS 17 Transition Resource Group and serves as KPMG Australia’s Accounting lead on IFRS 17. He presents on IFRS 17 in a number of forums including briefings for board members and C-level executives of Australian insurers and is involved with a number of insurers providing input into IFRS 17 conversion projects.
