Director, Internet of Things and Smart Cities Lead
Paul Francis is a Director in KPMG’s Internet of Things practice, and is the Lead for Smart Cities including transport and infrastructure, and the Smart Campus.
Paul works with clients to tap into the forecast $120 billion uplift in annual economic impact from IoT by 2025. Paul draws on the Firm’s deep industry, technology, policy and analytics insights, to assist organisations to better deliver safe and effective IoT solutions. Alongside the broader KPMG network, Paul helps clients with IoT strategy and implementation, business case and investment prioritisation, security, data analytics, technology advisory, local and international policy, growth plans, revenue, stakeholder and community engagement and more.
Paul is actively involved in the Internet of Things community, and is a member of the IoT Council, a think tank for IoT. Paul is also active with Australian IoT and Smart City organisations, including ASCA and IoTAA. He continues to write extensively about emerging technologies, including IoT, M2M and Smart Cities.
Paul has more than 20 years’ experience spanning Industry and Consulting across Europe, the US and Asia-Pacific. Prior to joining KPMG Paul was a Director of Consulting for another ‘Big 4’ Advisory firm. Before that his roles have included CTO at a global industrial organisation as well as Director for a leading Digital agency in the UK.
