What does the average day look like?

An average day as a graduate will be a day that is both similar and different from the day before. Graduates will find that the GST team has a methodical and supportive approach to engagements which graduates can rely on to build their confidence in their work. Graduates will be exposed to dynamic and varied work on a daily basis. This includes involvement with client advice, due diligence and tax structuring reports, voluntary disclosures, private ruling applications and assisting our clients to comply with their GST obligations. Whilst at first instance the variety of work may appear to be daunting, graduates have access to the support of team members with a wide depth of knowledge and expertise.

What will I learn in the first year?

During your first year with the GST team you will learn about the nuances of the GST system, various industries, how corporate transactions are conducted, our innovative technology tools as well as how to provide KPMG clients with innovative methodolgy to complex challenges. Your first year in the Indirect Tax Deals team will open up many new paths for you, providing a balance of technical, business development and mentoring skills that you will be able to utilise as your career progresses.

What’s the best part of the role?

The best part of the role is that from the first day, you will be a valued and important part of a close-knit team. There is an inclusive, diverse and supportive culture within the team, and you will get to work with a number of team members, at all levels of seniority, both within your office and as part of the wider national and global KPMG community.
