A normal day in the Digital Delta team usually starts with arriving at the client’s site and working alongside KPMG colleagues and client project team members. If you’re not on a client engagement at the time, you will come into the new flexible working space at the KPMG office and grab a free desk near your friends (who also happen to be your colleagues).
When you first arrive you typically check emails and attend an agile Stand-Up to report your progress/achievements and to plan for the day. Afterwards, you grab a group of friends and duck out to get a quick morning coffee at your local favourite café.
During the day your work ranges from creating information strategies and solution designs, to creating proposals for clients, engaging client stakeholders, implementing software, writing analytics code and developing cognitive computing solutions.
At the end of the day you may discuss emerging technologies from the Fourth Industrial Revolution such as AI and IoT with your colleagues on the way to a Data Science Meetup. Finally, you head home to spend time with your family and friends.
In the first year you’ll learn foundational consulting skills like written communication skills, presentation skills, structured problem solving and stakeholder management. You’ll develop the ability to communicate complicated concepts to clients through storytelling. You’ll also learn about the Digital Delta Human Centred Design method and the different types of analytical and emerging software you can use along with how to write and develop data products.
