Where do you see the greatest opportunities for growth in your market?

NSW presents enormous future opportunities in both the public and private sector across major infrastructure, regulatory and technology transformation projects. There is also a major focus on serving our fast growing mid-sized client market in Western Sydney and regional NSW.

Who or what inspires you?

Seeing our younger and newly promoted partners and professionals grow in confidence, build networks and achieve their full potential within KPMG.

What would you consider to be your highlight or greatest achievement in your career?

The Asia-Pacific insolvency engagement for Lehman Brothers between 2008 and 2011 was a major learning opportunity, as was living and working in Beijing on M&A deals between 2003 and 2006.

This appointment to NSW Chairman though is the greatest highlight!

What do you consider to be key traits of a good leader?

High personal values and standards, the ability to listen and empathise and take visible action to support your communities to succeed or work through challenges.

What’s the best career advice you can offer?

“The more you put in, the more you’ll get out”.

What keeps you busy when you’re not being State Chair at KPMG?

Other than working with my Asian teams at KPMG, I am very engaged with non-profit initiatives like the Asia Society and New Colombo Plan that build stronger connections between Australia and Asia.

Favourite place in the world?

Sydney first, Lake Como in Italy second, the family cattle farm in Bathurst third…
